Welcome to Year 5 at St Monica’s Primary School!
Welcome to Year 5 — an exciting year full of new challenges, discoveries, and opportunities to shine! As we move into the upper years of Key Stage 2, our pupils will be encouraged to become more independent, confident, and curious learners.
In English, we’ll explore a variety of inspiring texts to develop our reading and writing skills, using imagination and creativity in our work. In Maths, we’ll take on new challenges — mastering fractions, decimals, and percentages, and applying our problem-solving skills to real-life situations. Science will be full of hands-on investigations as we explore fascinating topics about the world around us.
We’ll also enjoy learning through a broad and balanced curriculum, including History, Geography, Art, Computing, Music, and PE. There will be plenty of opportunities to work together, try new things, and build important life skills along the way.
Year 5 is all about growing in confidence, taking on new responsibilities, and preparing for the exciting final year ahead. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things our pupils will achieve this year!
