Welcome to Reception — an exciting and important year where the children begin their full-time learning journey at St Monica’s! Our Reception classroom is a fun, caring, and stimulating environment where every child is encouraged to explore, imagine, and grow.
Through play-based learning and hands-on experiences, our pupils develop key skills in communication, language, reading, writing, and early maths. We also focus on building social skills, independence, and confidence, helping children to develop a love of learning that will stay with them throughout their time at school.
Each day is filled with exciting opportunities to explore the world around us — both indoors and outdoors. From storytelling and art to outdoor adventures and discovery time, there’s always something new to learn and enjoy!
Reception is a year of wonder, curiosity, and growth. We’re so proud of our children as they take their first steps on their school journey and can’t wait to see all the amazing things they will achieve at St Monica’s!
